A Welcome Note to our Upcoming October 2014 YTT Students!

The weather of Rishikesh usually remains favorable throughout the year and never goes to extreme. During the month of October, the weather conditions are very pleasant and temperate in Rishikesh; not too cold or too hot. The temperature varies from 17 degree Celsius to 30 degree Celsius. It is also the best time for River Rafting.

The start of October marks the end of monsoon and beginning of winters. The pleasant weather inspires one to explore the beauty of the city.

The Ajarya Yoga Academy 200 hr Ashtanga Yoga Teacher Training Course is set to begin from October 06 at Rishikesh.

    Hello everyone!
My name is Colleen and I am originally from the States. However, I have been living abroad for the last 6 years (France and South Korea) working as a dancer and English teacher. I have wanted to come to India to study yoga for quite some time, so I am so happy to finally be doing it with Ajarya. I can’t wait to meet you all and start our yoga journey together.
I won’t be able to join you all for the Taj trip. My flight gets in that evening. Has anyone settled on a place to stay in New Delhi? Maybe we can try to coordinate staying at the same hostel/hotel to meet up and say hello, and make it easier for pick up for the journey to Rishikesh.
Looking forward to getting to know everyone! ^_^

Hey there Colleen and other aspiring yogis

I am an australian who has been travelling for the past year and decided on this YTT with Ajarya as a last stop before I go home.

I decided I must do a yoga teacher training course late last year in a moment of clarity when walking El Camino De Santiago. This has definitely been my main focus do goal reaching this year and feel relieved to have finally decided on a place.

Colleen I would love to Co-ordinate hotels with you and any other fellow students. I am quite nervous about being in Dehli for a few days prior to the commencement of the course and would really help buffer the cultural shock to be with some one else who may know what to expect and be able to help or who is also going through the same thing.

I would love to go to the Taj Mahal but if I won’t get to meet any one before hand in think I will give it a miss and just arrive on the 4th of October.

So much to do but can’t wait for this new experience…

    Namaste.

      Hi Tayla,

A friend of mine is meeting up with me in Delhi after the yoga course. We were planning to see the Taj Mahal then. You’re welcome to join us for that trip, as well! ^_^ It will be fun to have a little group.

Aww thank you Colleen, that would be awesome.

I think I will go ahead and book my flight to Dehli in that case. Any idea of what Hotel you want to book? I have been inquiring a little about hotels. Looking for something that will do a transport transfer. Will be so nice to meet you there…

When are you thinking of booking?

Also my face book is under the email of tayla.jones@live.com.au if you or any other student wants to connect there. Put a face to a name! :)

Hello all! My name is Shoshana. I am from the states, but I am currently living in South Korea teaching English. (Colleen are you in Korea now? If so where are you living?)
I am really excited to come to India to study yoga. Yoga has been an important part of my life for many years, and I can’t wait to deepen my practice through this teacher training.
I am also interested staying at the same hotel/hostel as others in Delhi. Would be great to help share cost and have others to experience India for the first time with! Colleen and Tayla do either of you have ideas for a place? I am thinking of getting to Delhi on the 3rd.
Feel free to add me on facebook anyone, might make it easier to message a coordinate plans.
Well really looking forward to this experience and can’t wait to meet everyone!

    Hello Everyone,

Here is the first guy on this blog. My name is Sachin Sawant and I am an Indian living in the UK. I have been born and brought up in Mumbai, India and am a qualified lawyer on the Mumbai High Court. I speak the local language for Delhi and Rishikesh, i.e. Hindi, so can be of assistance to the group throughout.

I have lived in the States for about 3 years working with Banks and since last 2 years I have been living in London.

I have been practising Yoga for a while now and want to further my knowledge. I intend to teach yoga. My vision is to combine Yoga and Life Coaching which I have been doing for a while now.

My travel plans are not finalized yet. I am definitely not taking the direct transfers from the Delhi Airport to the Centre, as I want to enjoy the journey and want to experience real incredible India.
I am thinking of taking a flight from London to Delhi Airport, then a train to Haridwar and then maybe a cab/rickshaw(tuk tuk) to the Centre. If anyone wants to join me on the journey from Delhi Airport to the Centre, I would be happy to have a companion.

I will be doing some tourism in Rishikesh for sure, but have not yet decided about any tourism in Delhi. That being said, I will be flexible enough to join in with the group for any tourism/activities, if I can be of any help since I am an Indian Male speaking the local language. I will try and keep two days before and after the course to accomodate any last minute tourism plans.

Feel free to connect with me on Facebook or drop me an email if you have any questions. My email id is sachin.sawant365@gmail.com

Thank you for your time. I look forward to learning with you all.

    Namaste,
    Sachin Sawant

      Hi Sachin,
I am interested in going to rishikesh by train. What day are you planning on traveling?

  7. Colleen M Wilde said on 18-08-2014

    Hello again everyone,
I haven’t booked a hostel/hotel yet, but I’m thinking of staying at the Moustache Hostel. It has really good reviews on HostelBookers, and all the amenities of a perfect backpacker hostel. What do you think?

Shoshana – I’m not in Korea at the moment. I lived in Seoul for 4 years, and I am currently on other adventures before coming to India. I’d love to chat about life in Korea!

I can’t believe it’s mid-August already! We will be seeing each other soon! ^_^
    ~ Colleen
