Practicing yoga and teaching yoga are quite different. Good yoga practitioners often experience challenges in making the transition to successful teaching.

This category is exclusively devoted to Ajarya Students. By contributing in this category, Ajarya Students – past and present – including Teacher Training Program students are encouraged to :

  • Highlight your progress – Share your experience of holding a yoga class OR even your class settings through photos; your every little achievement, to motivate yourself as well as your fellow Ajarya teachers
  • Build a Support Group – Provide and receive support within the Ajarya fraternity to help yourself & fellow students make the transition into confident teachers. Share and receive guidance on setting up and marketing your yoga practice and studio. Do this by simple sharing of thoughts, tips, achievements, difficulties, frustrations, motivations.
  • Build a strong Alumni Build the strength of the Academy that you passed out from. Create a fraternity among Ajarya Students to bond together, exchange plans and form alliances, share job opportunities etc. In other words, build a strong alumni.

Ajarya Students cut across nationalities and come from all over the world to learn together.

It is a rare, once-in-a-lifetime opportunity that brings so many people from so many different cultures to live together for several days through a training program.

The aim of this section is to build on and nurture the relationships that have been formed, through the common thread which is Yoga.

Please take an effort to build on this glue by sharing your growth in Yoga from time to time.

Please note the following important points for the batch from 9 Apr 2015 to 07 May 2015

Registration Desk:

Registration Desk for enrollment is open from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the first day of the course i.e. on 9 April, 2015

Students who arrive by themselves before these will have to wait for the opening of the Registration Desk

Students who arrive after these timings will have to pay a late fees of $50. It is also considered un-yogic to present yourselves late for the course and can weigh down your overall assessments.

We recommend use of Group Transfer provided by Ajarya Yoga Academy to avoid any confusions.

Opening Ceremony 9 April, 2015:

The opening ceremony is a yajna or a fire ritual where fire is used as vehicle to make yogic spiritual offerings to make the course smooth and successful. We highly recommend that you ensure attendance in time for this ceremony and gain blessings for a successful course. Your attendance will count towards your overall performance in the course. The group transfer arranged by Ajarya is timed so that you are well in time for this ceremony.

Closing Ceremony 07 May, 2015:

The opening ceremony is a yajna or a fire ritual where fire is used as vehicle to make yogic spiritual offerings to make your yoga living progressive and smooth. We highly recommend that you ensure attendance in time for this ceremony and gain blessings for a successful course. Certificates are awarded in this ceremony only.

Availability of Rooms:

Rooms are blocked for people who avail the Group Transfer.

For others who chose to arrive by yourselves, available rooms are allocated on a first-come-first-served basis.

We recommend use of Group Transfer provided by Ajarya Yoga Academy to avail the rooms of your choice.

Google Maps:

For some reason, if the Google Maps points to a wrong address of Ajarya, look for this specific address

Ajarya Yoga Academy | Yoga Teacher Training Rishikesh
Narayana Kunj
Village Jonk Swargashram Pauri Garhwal, Near Neelkanth Taxi Stand
Geeta Nagar, Rishikesh, Uttarakhand 249304
Ph: +91 135 2440822 / 2440922 / +91 9760010232

Important Notes:

Our location in Rishikesh is on the Eastern Bank of the Ganges.

At the moment, after 6 p.m. every day, only a foot bridge called the Ram Jhula helps us cross over the Ganges to Eastern Bank from the bus stand on the Western Bank. The approximate distance from Ram Jhula Bus Stand to Ajarya will be about 2.5 kms. If you are planning to arrive into Rishikesh late in the evening, you should make arrangements to stay somewhere on the Western Bank overnight rather than crossing over at night / early morning. If you are travelling from Delhi by yourselves, the night service Volvo buses arrive into Rishikesh very early (sometimes by 3 am). We recommend use of Group Transfer provided by Ajarya Yoga Academy to arrive in the Academy at the right time!

Foreign Exchange Rates:

Foreign Exchange rates will be applicable approximately as on the day of Registration, rounded of to the nearest Rupee. To avoid any inconvenience, please calculate US$ 1/- to Indian Rupees 65/-.
